Terms of Service
The Life App, a trade name of ArrowHound Studios LLC · Last updated October 22, 2026
In crisis? The Life App can't help in an emergency. In the U.S., call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room. Outside the U.S., contact your local emergency number.
Welcome to The Life App. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and ArrowHound Studios LLC, doing business as "The Life App" ("The Life App," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your use of our website, web app, any future mobile apps, and related services (together, the "Services").
Please read these sections carefully:
- Section 3 (Not Medical Care). The Life App is a wellness and productivity tool, not therapy or a crisis service.
- Section 6 (Premium). Premium renews automatically until you cancel.
- Section 17 (Resolving Disputes). Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem informally.
Our Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explain how we collect and use your information.
1. Agreeing to These Terms
You accept these Terms when you tick the box agreeing to them as you set up your account, or when you agree to an updated version in the app. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.
Some offers come with extra terms, such as a promotion or redemption code. Those terms add to these Terms. If they conflict, the offer's terms control for that offer.
2. Who Can Use The Life App
Age. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Services. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up. If you're under 18, we don't keep your details and we delete the account. The Services are not directed to children.
Where. The Services are offered to people in the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union. If you live in the UK or EU, you also have the rights described in Section 22, and nothing in these Terms takes away rights your local consumer law gives you.
Personal use. The Life App is for your own personal use. Therapists and other health care providers are welcome to suggest it, but may not use it, including Teams, to treat patients or store patient records. We are not a HIPAA business associate and do not sign business associate agreements.
Your account. Give us accurate information, keep your password private, and don't share your account. You're responsible for activity under your account. If you think someone else has accessed it, email us right away at help@thelifeapp.ai.
Removed accounts. If we removed you from the Services, you may not create a new account unless we agree in writing.
3. Not Medical Care — Please Read
The Life App is a general wellness tool for planning, relaxation and managing everyday stress. It is not medical care, therapy, or a crisis service.
- Our Care practices (breathing, grounding, tapping and reflection practices, and practices adapted from skills taught in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, or DBT) are for self-guided practice outside a clinical setting. People may find these skills work best alongside support from a qualified professional.
- The Life App is not designed to diagnose, monitor, predict, treat, cure or prevent any physical or mental health condition. Your mood trends, patterns and Juni's insights are not a clinical assessment.
- Using The Life App does not create a doctor–patient, therapist–client or other clinical relationship.
- The Life App isn't designed for people in an acute mental health crisis. We don't provide emergency services, and no one at The Life App watches your entries or will contact you or anyone else about your safety.
- What you type to Juni or add as a check-in note is checked automatically for words that may signal a crisis, so we can show you support resources such as 988. No person reads it, and we don't contact anyone.
- Not every practice is right for everyone. Stop any practice that feels uncomfortable. If you have a health condition, talk with a qualified professional first. Don't use audio practices or the focus timer while driving or doing anything that needs your full attention.
- Never ignore professional advice or delay getting it because of something in The Life App.
If you're in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, don't rely on The Life App. In the U.S., call or text 988 or call 911.
4. Juni and Juni's Writing Help
Juni, our in-app guide, can use artificial intelligence to write your daily insight, weekly review and schedule ideas, and to answer open questions you ask ("Juni's writing help").
- Juni is software, not a person. Juni is not a therapist, coach or medical professional, and its replies are generated automatically.
- Sharing feelings is optional. You never have to tell Juni how you feel to use The Life App. If you do, Juni's replies are general self-help ideas, not a diagnosis, mental health assessment, or treatment advice.
- It can be wrong. Replies may be inaccurate or not right for you. Review suggestions before acting on them; you stay in control of your plans.
- Your permission comes first. Juni's writing help is off until you turn it on. It works by sending some of your information to Google's Gemini service, which processes it for us. Our Privacy Policy lists exactly what is sent. You can turn it off at any time in Settings > Privacy & data.
- What you type. You own what you type to Juni and, as far as the law allows, Juni's replies to you. Please don't include other people's private or sensitive details.
- Use it fairly. Don't try to make Juni produce content that breaks these Terms or get around its limits. Features, daily limits and the technology behind them may change.
5. Teams
You can create or join Teams to share tasks with other people.
- What other members see. Members of a Team can see every task in that Team (its title, description, links, status and focus time) and who created or is assigned each one, shown by display name and email address. They also see each member's display name (or email address, if no display name is set) and role.
- What stays private. Your mood check-ins, Care practices, points and streaks are never shown to your Teams.
- Owners. The person who creates a Team can invite and remove members and manage the Team. If you leave or are removed, content you added to that Team may remain visible to its members.
- Invitations. Anyone with an invite link can join the Team while the link is valid (7 days) and can see who sent it. Only share links with, and only invite, people you know who would expect to hear from you. When we email an invitation for you, it shows your name and the Team's name. No spam or bulk invitations.
- Be kind. Teams are for encouragement. Harassment, pressure or shaming of other members isn't allowed.
6. Premium Subscriptions
The Life App's core features are free. Some features and practices need a paid subscription ("Premium").
Who sells it. Premium bought on our website is sold to you by Stripe as merchant of record, under Stripe's terms for buyers. Stripe processes your payment, calculates and collects taxes, and appears on your statement.
Price and automatic renewal. Premium is offered monthly or yearly at the price shown before you subscribe, plus applicable tax. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, at the then-current price, until you cancel. When you subscribe, you agree to these automatic renewal terms and authorize the seller to charge your payment method for each renewal.
Free trial. New subscribers may get a 7-day free trial (one per account). We ask for a payment method when you start. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts and you're charged the regular price on the date shown when you sign up.
How to cancel. Go to Settings > Subscription > Manage subscription at any time before your renewal or trial-end date, or email help@thelifeapp.ai. You keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. Deleting your account cancels a website subscription right away (see Section 14).
Refunds. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and we don't give credits for partial periods. If you think you were charged by mistake, email help@thelifeapp.ai and we'll look into it.
UK and EU: 14-day right to cancel. If you live in the UK or EU, you can cancel a new paid subscription within 14 days of the day it starts and get a refund. If you asked Premium to start right away, we may deduct a proportionate amount for the time you used. A free trial doesn't use up this right: the 14 days start when your paid subscription begins.
Payment problems. If a renewal payment fails, you keep Premium for up to 7 days while the payment is retried. After that, your account moves to the free plan.
Price changes. If we raise the price, we'll tell you by email at least 30 days in advance, and the new price starts at your next renewal. You can cancel before it takes effect.
What Premium includes. We regularly add, update and retire practices and features, including Premium ones. Your subscription gives you access to Premium as it is while you're subscribed, not to any particular practice or feature. Your purchase doesn't depend on any future feature or on anything we've said publicly about future plans.
Redemption codes. A Premium code is single-use and personal. It has no cash value and can't be resold. It gives Premium for the period stated with the code, starting on the day you redeem it, and must be redeemed by the date stated with it. When it ends, your account moves to the free plan. We never charge you unless you choose to subscribe. We may cancel codes that were resold, obtained by fraud, or tied to a pledge that wasn't paid.
7. Your Content
You own it. "Your Content" is what you add to the Services, such as tasks, projects, goals, notes, links, mood check-ins and the questions you ask Juni. You keep ownership of Your Content.
What you let us do. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, copy and display Your Content only as needed to run and secure the Services for you, provide the features you choose (including sharing with your Teams and Juni's writing help, if you turn it on), and comply with the law. This license ends when Your Content is deleted, except for backups kept for a limited time. We don't use Your Content in marketing without your separate permission.
Your responsibility. You confirm you have the right to add Your Content and that it doesn't break the law or anyone's rights.
Your copy. You can download everything in your account at any time in Settings > Privacy & data > Export my data. We recommend keeping your own copy of anything important.
8. Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without restriction or payment to you. If you share health details or feelings when you contact support, we use them only to help you (see our Privacy Policy).
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Break the law or violate anyone's rights, including privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights.
- Harass, threaten, bully or demean anyone, or promote hate, violence or self-harm.
- Post content that is sexually explicit, defamatory, fraudulent or misleading, or that exploits or endangers minors.
- Impersonate anyone or misrepresent who you are.
- Send spam or bulk invitations.
- Upload malware or anything meant to harm the Services or other users.
- Access non-public parts of the Services, test our security without written permission, or get around any security or access limits, including Premium limits.
- Copy, reverse engineer or decompile the Services, except where the law allows.
- Use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access the Services or collect data, including other users' information.
- Manipulate points, badges, streaks or any promotion.
- Resell or sublicense the Services, use them to build a competing product, or use our content (including practice scripts and audio) to train AI models.
- Help anyone else do any of these things.
We don't review all content, but we may remove content or limit access if we believe it breaks these Terms or puts someone at risk. Report concerns to help@thelifeapp.ai.
10. Our Intellectual Property
The Services, including the app, software, design, Care practice scripts and audio, illustrations, badges, the Juni character, and "The Life App" name and logos, belong to ArrowHound Studios LLC or its licensors and are protected by law.
We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. We reserve all rights not expressly granted. Don't use our names, logos or Juni without our written permission.
About DBT. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) was developed by Dr. Marsha M. Linehan. The Life App isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Dr. Linehan or any DBT training organization. Our practices are our own original adaptations.
11. Points, Badges and Streaks
Points, badges and your Care streak exist to make progress visible and motivating. They have no cash value, can't be sold, transferred or exchanged for money or Premium, and aren't property you own. We may change how they're earned or shown, fix errors, and remove points or badges gained through misuse. Your Care streak counts only the days we save, so it needs you to keep your check-ins and Care history (Settings > Privacy & data).
12. Third-Party Services
You can sign in with Google, Apple or Microsoft. If you use voice dictation, your browser's own speech service (for example, Google in Chrome) turns your speech into text. Those services follow their own terms and privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for them.
We use service providers to run the Services, as listed in our Privacy Policy. With your permission, we use product analytics to see which features help people, and some users may see a new feature or design before others. You can turn analytics off in Settings > Privacy & data.
13. Copyright Complaints
If you believe content on the Services infringes your copyright, send a notice that meets 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) to our copyright agent at help@thelifeapp.ai, with "Copyright notice" in the subject line. We may close the accounts of repeat infringers.
14. Changes, Account Deletion and Termination
Changes to the Services. We may add, change or remove features, or stop offering the Services. If we stop offering Premium while you have a prepaid period left, we'll give you reasonable notice and a pro-rata refund of the unused part.
Deleting your account. You can stop using the Services at any time and delete your account in Settings > Privacy & data > Delete account (or by emailing help@thelifeapp.ai from your account email if you can't sign in). Deleting your account immediately cancels any website subscription, with no refund for the rest of the period, and permanently deletes your account and its data as described in our Privacy Policy. Any Team you own is deleted too; its other members keep the tasks they created, no longer shared. A subscription bought through an app store must be cancelled with that store.
Our right to suspend or end access. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if needed to protect users or the Services. Where appropriate, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond. If we end a paid subscription for a reason other than your breach, we'll refund the unused part.
What survives. Sections that by their nature should continue after your account ends will continue, including Sections 7 (license limits), 8, 10, 11 and 15–21.
15. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.
We don't promise that the Services will always be available, error-free or secure, that data will never be lost, that Juni's replies will be accurate, or that using the Services will improve your productivity, mood, sleep or wellbeing.
This section doesn't affect rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded, including the UK and EU rights in Section 22.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- ArrowHound Studios LLC and its members, officers, employees, contractors and licensors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from these Terms or the Services.
- Our total liability for all claims arising from these Terms or the Services is limited to the greater of (a) what you paid for the Services in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) US $100.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence. UK and EU users: see Section 22.
17. Resolving Disputes
Talk to us first. Before starting a claim, email help@thelifeapp.ai with your name, account email, a description of the problem and what you'd like us to do. If we have a dispute with you, we'll contact you at your account email. We'll both try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days, and any deadlines for bringing a claim are paused during that time.
Courts. If we can't resolve a dispute informally, either of us may bring it in the courts described in Section 18. Either of us may also bring an individual claim in small claims court where it qualifies.
UK and EU users: see Section 22.
18. Governing Law and Courts
For U.S. users, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be heard in the state and federal courts located in California. This doesn't take away any right you have under the law of your home state to bring a claim where you live. UK and EU users: see Section 22.
19. Indemnification
To the extent the law allows, you agree to defend and cover ArrowHound Studios LLC and its members, officers, employees and contractors against claims, losses and reasonable legal fees arising from (a) your breach of these Terms or the law, (b) Your Content, or (c) your violation of someone else's rights. We'll tell you about any such claim, and we may choose to control the defense. This section doesn't apply to UK or EU consumers to the extent local law doesn't allow it.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes, we'll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect, and ask you to agree to the new version in the app. If you don't agree, you can stop using the Services and delete your account before the change takes effect; if you've prepaid for Premium, we'll refund the unused part. Changes don't apply to disputes that arose before them.
21. General Terms
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the policies they mention are the whole agreement between you and us about the Services.
- Severability. If a provision can't be enforced, it will be enforced as far as allowed, and the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a provision right away, we can still enforce it later.
- Assignment. You can't transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, and we'll tell you if we do. Your rights under these Terms won't be reduced.
- Relationship. These Terms don't create a partnership, joint venture, employment or agency relationship.
- Electronic notices. You agree to receive notices electronically. We'll send them to your account email or show them in the app.
- Language. If we provide a translation, the English version controls, except where local law requires otherwise.
- California users. Under California Civil Code § 1789.3, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N-112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or (800) 952-5210.
22. UK and EU Users
If you live in the United Kingdom or the European Union, this section applies to you and overrides anything else in these Terms that conflicts with it.
- Your statutory rights. You have legal rights under your local consumer law, such as the right to digital services that are as described and provided with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
- Liability. Section 16 doesn't apply to you. Instead, we're responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We aren't responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, or for business losses. We don't exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
- Disputes and courts. Sections 17 and 18 don't limit your rights. Please contact us first at help@thelifeapp.ai so we can try to fix the problem. If we can't, you can bring a claim in the courts where you live, and the mandatory consumer laws of your country apply.
- Right to cancel. See Section 6 for your 14-day right to cancel a new paid subscription.
- Data protection. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, including your rights and how to complain to a data protection authority.
- Reporting content. To report illegal content, or if you have a question about content we removed or an account we restricted, email help@thelifeapp.ai. We'll tell you our decision and the reasons for it.
